Safeguarding at DWPS goes beyond compliance. It is part of the school's values — rooted in respect and compassion for every child in our care. Every staff member, every visitor and every parent plays a role in keeping our community safe.
Who this applies to
Our safeguarding policy applies to every child enrolled at DWPS, to all staff (teaching and non-teaching), to volunteers, contractors and any visitor on school premises.
It also extends to the digital environment. Online safety, responsible use of technology and protection from cyberbullying are all covered within our wider safeguarding framework.

Physical & emotional
safety
Zero tolerance for physical harm, emotional abuse or bullying of any kind — by peers, adults or anyone in a position of authority.
Online safety & cyberbullying
Guidance on responsible digital use, protection from cyberbullying and age-appropriate online content, taught across all year groups.
Mental health &
wellbeing
Early identification of mental health concerns, pastoral support from our counsellor and referral pathways for students who need additional help.
Child protection
& abuse
All staff are trained to recognise signs of neglect or abuse and to follow the correct reporting procedures without delay or compromise.
Raising a concern
How to report — for students, parents & staff
Speak to a trusted adult
Any student who feels unsafe should speak to their class teacher, the counsellor or directly to the Head Coordinator. No concern is too small. You will be listened to.
Parents — contact us directly
Parents with concerns about their child or another child at DWPS should contact the DSL, Mr. Sharma, directly by phone or email. Concerns will be treated with complete confidentiality.
Staff — follow the reporting procedure
All staff must record and report any concern to the DSL on the same day. The concern must be recorded in writing. Staff should never promise confidentiality to a child before hearing what they have to say.
Anonymous reporting
DWPS provides a secure anonymous concern form for students or parents who prefer not to be identified. All anonymous reports are taken seriously and followed up by the DSL within 24 hours.
